WHAT'S NEXT FOR ENJOY CHURCH

After years of seeking God's guidance on where He has for us next, our prayers have been answered.

WE'VE FOUND A NEW HOME!

Q + A

Here are some questions you might have about this transition. If you don't see your question answered, feel free to reach out!
Why this building?
The move to use First Baptist Church's building is a strategic one, grounded in our mission to love God, love people, and make disciples. The leadership of Enjoy fell in love with this location for several reasons:
  1. This building is more than just a structure; it’s a landmark of Grand Junction with a rich history. Preserving this building allows us to honor the past while providing a strong foundation for future generations. Originally constructed over a century ago, the walls echo with the voices of those who came before us, and now, we add our chapter to its ongoing story.
  2. There is a growing trend of today’s generation longing for a return to the beauty and reverence embodied in classic church architecture. We've noticed a desire to move beyond modern design and embrace spaces that inspire awe and reflect the glory of God. There is good evidence to suggest that Gen Z actually prefers more traditional church architecture. By moving to this building, we are keeping in step with culture and positioning ourselves to strategically reach the unchurched and next generation for years to come.
  3. The building's location in the heart of downtown Grand Junction allows us to continue to serve the city well. With the building just a few minutes from GJHS and CMU's campus, we are able to reach the teenagers and young adults of GJ. Additionally, the new building offers more space for EC Kids than ever before, providing a fun and safe environment for the youngest in our church family to meet Jesus.
  4. With the increasing cost of rent at 2825 North Avenue, we knew we wouldn't be able to afford our current building much longer. At the same time, we are also outgrowing that space. The cost to share the building with FBC allows us to use our finances more wisely and keep building costs way down. With a sanctuary that seats over 400, we can continue to reach new people in our city for Jesus. By moving to this building, we can adjust our budget to invest financially into things that matter most.
We are so expectant for what the Lord will do in this space, and we are excited to partner with you to bring Heaven to Grand Junction.
When will our first service at the new building be and where is it located?
Our first service at our new building will be June 30th at 9am. The address to the building is 720 Grand Avenue (First Baptist Church).

Our new service time will be 9am on Sundays. This will allow both churches to use the building, with FBC having their service at 11am.
I'd like to see the building before we move in. How can I do that?
We invite you to come to FUTURE DAY at the new building on Sunday, June 2nd at 12pm after service. Here you will have a chance to tour the the building, get questions answered, worship and pray in the sanctuary, and hear more about the transition and how we plan to use the building.
How can I help?
First and foremost, you can help by diligently praying for this transition. Pray that we would use this space to the glory of God and the city of Grand Junction would be reached through this move.

We're also looking for new volunteers to add to our team. As FBC is an old building (built in 1912!), it needs some TLC to be ready for a church congregation our size. We have a big checklist of things that need to be done around the building prior to moving in, and we'd love your help! We also need volunteers to regularly serve in parking, greeting, security, and on our refresh team. You can find a more detailed description of each team below. Fill out the form below to let us know you're interested.

Lastly, we are seeking to raise $10,000 to make this transition in a financially healthy way. Rooms need to be painted, signs need to be purchased, kids classrooms need new furniture, the technology in the sanctuary needs to be upgraded, and more. If you would like to give to support this move, you can do so here by selecting Vision (building fund).

Join us on Future Day at the new building (720 Grand Ave) on Sunday, June 2nd at 12pm to hear more about how you can get involved.
Where can I park at the new building?
There are a few different options for parking. Here you can view and download a map of all parking options. There is also a video below.

  • The parking directly behind the building is reserved for families with young children, people with disabilities, and the older folks in our church family.
  • Our main parking lot is directly across the street in a big dirt lot along Grand Ave. Our parking team will be there to direct the flow of traffic and help ensure a stress-free parking experience.
  • Overflow parking is available at the library off of 6th street, a 5 minute walk from the building. We also invite you to park downtown along Main Street and walk. Who doesn't love picking up a coffee on their way to church?
Is there kids' space at the new building?
More than ever before! We will have an entire EC Kids wing downstairs with amazing classrooms and a gym for them to play in.

However, we need help to get the space ready for our kiddos. You can help by donating to our vision fund, painting hallways and classrooms, moving furniture, and cleaning and organizing.
Are we still doing House Church?
Yep! Our plan all along has been to maintain our usual Sunday gathering while implementing House Churches across the Valley. This is still the case. We will continue to meet in House Churches and also have a weekly gathering on Sunday mornings at 9am.
Are we becoming Baptists and joining First Baptist Church's congregation?
Nope! First Baptist is graciously allowing us to use their building, but we will remain Enjoy Church and they will remain First Baptist Church.
Is the building accessible for people with disabilities?
There is an elevator entrance located outside right next to the accessible parking spaces. This elevator can take individuals to every level within the church building.
Will Enjoy be using the building during the week, or just on Sundays?
We have an Enjoy office set up and access all week long!

First Baptist Church does a phenomenal job at stewarding their building to the glory of God, and many different groups + organizations have access at various times throughout the week.

Calendar permitting, we are free to schedule events at the building any time.

JOIN A TEAM

With a new facility comes new needs. We'd love for you to jump in and start serving in our new space!

Parking Lot Team

Our Parking Team will be the first to welcome anyone who comes to Enjoy Church and the last to say goodbye.  By joining the team, you'll help ensure safety and efficiency, making parking lot access smooth and stress-free for everyone. This is an opportunity for energetic and friendly individuals to be hospitable to the community, meet new people, and make a positive first impression on everyone who visits Enjoy Church.

Greeting Team

As we transition to  the new building, our greeting team needs to grow! Our greeters help create an environment that makes everyone feel like they belong. Say hello to people as they enter and help them navigate the building. The greeting team is an intregal part to helping people not only feel welcome at the building, but welcoming everyone as Christ has welcomed us.

Security Team

Our security team needs to grow as we transition to a bigger space. This team plays a vital role in creating a secure environment, allowing everyone to worship with peace of mind. This team is ideal for individuals who are vigilant, dependable, and committed to serving our church community through protective measures.

Refresh Team

This team will help get the building ready to host people coming on a Sunday morning by doing various tasks, such as setting out and picking up communion cups, removing and putting decor back up, and tidying things up between services so the building is ready to go for FBC's congregation at 11am.
